In 2001, biometric technology was in its infancy, mainly being represented by University departments or small spinout startups with their focus purely on technology.
I knew biometric technology was going to be big, simply by thinking how it might affect my own life day to day and how many times as a citizen, an employee or a consumer that I needed to identify myself. The problem was that nobody was investing in understanding the problems biometrics could solve and developing solutions accordingly. In response, I set up Human Recognition Systems in 2001.
Remaining independent since inception has allowed us to retain our passion and remain impartial when implementing the best solutions for our customers. 10 years ago we started out as pioneers and we continue to trail-blaze our market, with accolades including the "largest in Europe" title for a biometric access control system and best European Biometrics Integrator.
At the heart of our company are our people who all ascribe to living the values in their daily working lives. They were created by the people, and I believe they define who we are and what we do, we see them as our guiding light on our ‘Journey to Excellence’. But more than that, our core values are the standards we hold ourselves to - if it doesn’t fit with our values we don’t do it!
